The University of Maryland offers undergraduate, master's, doctoral, dual, and postgraduate certifications through its twelve colleges and schools of study. These academic institutions include the colleges of agriculture and natural resources, architecture, planning & preservation, arts & humanities, business, education, engineering, information studies, journalism, public health, and public policy.

The university employs teachers who have won Noble Prizes, which says a lot about the calibre of the education they offer to students.
In addition, the university is home to the Maryland Language Science Center, one of the largest groups of language scientists in North America, which has more than 200 academic members, graduate students, and researchers.
More than 377,000 graduates from different countries throughout the world call the university home.
